Numbering and Document Defaults

At the bottom of the Business tab you can control how your estimates and invoices are numbered and dated:

  • Next estimate number – Set the number your next estimate will use (for example, start at EST-0200 to carry on from your old system). Sammy keeps counting from there
  • Estimates valid for – How many days your quotes stay valid. This shows on estimates that don't have a specific expiry date, and it's written into your default terms
  • Next invoice number – Same as estimates, but for invoices (INV-)
  • Invoices due within – How many days clients have to pay. New invoices get their due date set this far from the issue date, and it's written into your default invoice terms

Note: To avoid duplicate numbers, you can only move numbering forward – Sammy won't let you set a number lower than one you've already used.

Saving Your Changes

After making any changes, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page. You'll see a confirmation once your details are saved.

Tip: If you have unsaved changes, you'll see an indicator reminding you to save before navigating away.
