How Do I Add Extra Contacts to a Client?

A client — especially a company — often has more than one person you deal with: a site manager, an accounts person, the owner, or a few different agents. Sammy lets you store all of them under the one client as extra contacts (sometimes called secondary or additional contacts), then choose which person each proposal is addressed to.

Adding a Contact

  1. Tap Clients in the sidebar and open the client
  2. Scroll to the Contacts section
  3. Tap + New contact
  4. Enter the person's name. You can also add a role (like Site Manager, Accounts or Owner), an email and a phone number
  5. Save

You can add as many contacts as you need.

Primary vs Extra Contacts

  • The main person you entered when you first created the client sits at the top, marked Primary.
  • Every person you add after that is an extra contact, listed underneath.
  • To change the primary person's details, edit the client itself (the primary is part of the client's own details).

Choosing Who a Proposal Goes To

When you send a proposal, if the client has more than one contact you can:

  • Pick which contact it's addressed to from the To dropdown — Sammy greets that person by name and shows them as the contact on the proposal.
  • Cc the other contacts so they get a copy too.

See Send Your Estimate as a Proposal.

Setting the Contact Before You Send

You don't have to wait until you send. On the estimate's Prepared for block you can choose which contact the job is for, so the right person shows on the on-screen preview and any PDF you download — before you send anything.

Editing or Removing a Contact

In the Contacts section on the client, tap any extra contact to edit their details, or remove one you no longer need. Removing a contact never affects the client itself.
