Fergus Integration
Connect your Fergus account to send estimates from Sammy straight into Fergus as a job with a quote on it. Your client becomes the Fergus customer, the job's address becomes its site, your scope of works goes on the job, and every group lands as a quote section with each line's quantity, price and cost. Nothing gets typed twice.
Change the estimate in Sammy later? Push it again and the same Fergus quote is updated.
Connecting to Fergus#
You'll need a Fergus Personal Access Token. Only a Fergus master admin can make one.
- In Fergus, go to Settings → Integration Centre → Fergus API and generate a Personal Access Token. Copy it.
- In Sammy, click Settings in the sidebar and open the Integrations tab.
- Find Fergus and paste the token into Fergus Personal Access Token.
- Click Connect Fergus.
Sammy checks the token with Fergus and shows your Fergus company name once it's connected.
Treat the token like a password: anyone who has it can work in your Fergus account. If you regenerate it in Fergus, connect again in Sammy with the new one.
Sending an estimate to Fergus#
- Open the estimate.
- Open More Actions (or Download & Export) and choose Push to Fergus. On your phone, it's under Export.
- Check what's going (the client, how many sections and lines, the total) and click Push to Fergus.
Sammy then:
- Finds your customer in Fergus by their email (or their name), or adds them if they're new.
- Adds the site using the estimate's site address (or the client's address).
- Creates a Fergus job of type Quote, with your scope of works as its description and your Sammy estimate number as the customer reference.
- Puts the quote on the job: one section per group, one line per line item, with the quantity, the price (ex GST) and your cost.
The quote lands in Fergus as a draft, so you can look it over and send it to your customer from Fergus. Click Open in Fergus to go straight to the job.
The estimate needs a client and an address before it can go to Fergus. If either is missing, Sammy tells you which.
Updating the Fergus quote after a change#
Once an estimate has been sent to Fergus, its menu says Update in Fergus, and the estimate shows a Fergus tag with the job number.
- If the quote is still a draft in Fergus, pushing again replaces it with what's in Sammy now.
- If you've already sent the quote from Fergus, Fergus gets a new version of the quote on the same job.
- If your customer has accepted the quote in Fergus, Sammy won't change it. Make any further changes in Fergus.
Good to know#
- GST is worked out by Fergus from your Fergus tax settings. Sammy sends prices ex GST. Fergus works GST out line by line, so its total including GST can be a few cents different from Sammy's.
- Contingency on the whole estimate isn't a line, so it doesn't go to Fergus. If your estimate shows contingency to your client, Sammy shows both totals after the push so you can add it in Fergus before you send the quote.
- Lines go as one-off lines, priced by Sammy. They aren't matched to your Fergus price book.
- Your proposal PDF doesn't go to Fergus.
- Teams: once anyone in your team connects Fergus, everyone in the team can send the team's estimates to it.
- Variations and work-done sheets don't have Push to Fergus: they belong to a job that's already in Fergus.
Disconnecting#
Go to Settings → Integrations → Fergus and click Disconnect. In a team, this disconnects Fergus for everyone. Jobs and quotes already in Fergus stay there.
