I Signed In With Google and My Quotes Are Gone

Don't panic — your quotes haven't gone anywhere. What's usually happened is you've signed in with a different method than the one you used when you first set up Sammy, and that's created a second, empty account.

Why This Happens

Sammy lets you sign in three ways: email and password, Google, or Apple. Each one is tied to an email address. If the email behind your Google button doesn't match the email on your original account, tapping Sign in with Google creates a brand-new account instead of opening your existing one.

The most common cause is signing up with Apple and choosing Hide My Email. Apple gives your account a private relay address (it looks like k46yynzw8v@privaterelay.appleid.com), so a later Google sign-in with your normal Gmail doesn't match it.

The Quick Fix

Sign out, then sign back in the way you did when you first joined Sammy:

  1. Open Sammy and go to the sign-in screen
  2. Tap the method you originally signed up with — Apple, Google, or your email and password
  3. Your quotes, clients and invoices will all be there

Not sure which method you used? On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and type your email — Sammy will tell you how that account signs in.

Merging the Two Accounts

If Sammy spots that you already have an account when you sign in with a new method, it will offer to merge them:

  1. You'll see a card showing your existing business and how many estimates it has
  2. Tap Merge accounts
  3. Enter the 6-digit code we email to your account's address (if you used Apple's Hide My Email, the code is forwarded to your real inbox)
  4. When it's done, tap Sign in again — from then on, both sign-in methods open the same account

Stop It Happening Again

Link your other sign-in methods to your account so any button gets you into the right place:

  1. Click Settings in the sidebar
  2. Open the Account tab
  3. Find Sign-in methods
  4. Tap Link next to Google or Apple, or Add password to set up email sign-in
