Joining a Team When You Already Have an Account
Been invited to join a team, but you already use Sammy on your own? Here's how joining works and what happens to your existing account.
Accepting the invite
- Open the invitation email and tap Accept invitation
- If you're already signed in, you just confirm and you're in
- If you're not signed in, sign in with your existing Sammy login first, then confirm
The invite link is good for 7 days. If it's expired, ask the person who invited you to send a fresh one.
What happens to my own account?
You keep the same login — same email and password. What changes is that your account joins the team's shared workspace. From now on, when you open Sammy you'll see the team's estimates, clients, kits and settings, and everyone on the team can see the work you do there.
Does my old work come across?
No — your previous solo work does not merge into the team. The estimates, clients and settings you built on your own aren't copied into the shared team workspace. When you join, you start working in the team's workspace, which the owner set up.
If you have solo work you need, sort it out before you join — download any proposals or invoices you want to keep a copy of. If this is a concern, have a chat with your team owner about it first.
What about my own subscription?
If you were paying for Pro on your own, you don't need to keep paying once you're on the team — team members get full Pro access as part of the team plan. You may want to cancel your personal Pro so you're not paying for something you no longer need. If you subscribed through the App Store or Play Store, cancel it there.
Do I have to set anything up?
No. As an invited member you skip the usual setup — you don't pick a trade, set margins or build a first estimate. You inherit all of that from the business you're joining and land straight on the shared dashboard, ready to work.
What if I leave later?
If you leave the team, you lose access to the shared workspace and your account goes back to the free Basic plan. Anything you created while on the team stays with the team. See Leaving or Removing a Team Member.
