Leaving or Removing a Team Member
Whether you're stepping out of a team yourself or taking someone off it, here's exactly what happens.
Leaving a team (member steps out)
If you're on someone's team and you want to leave:
- Go to Settings → Team
- Tap Leave organisation
- Confirm
What happens when you leave:
- You lose access to the shared workspace — the team's estimates, invoices, clients, kits and settings
- Your own account drops back to the free Basic plan
- Anything you created while on the team stays with the team — it doesn't leave with you
- To keep using Sammy's full features on your own, you'll need your own Pro subscription
Removing a member (owner or admin removes someone)
If you run the team and need to take someone off:
- Go to Settings → Team
- Find the member in the list
- Tap Remove
What happens to them:
- They immediately lose access to the shared workspace
- Their account drops back to the free Basic plan
- Their seat is freed up, so you can invite someone else in their place
- Everything they created stays with the team
The owner is a special case
The team owner — the person who pays for the plan — can't just leave. Because the team's data and subscription sit with the owner, you first need to transfer ownership to another member, or close the team entirely. Once ownership has been handed over, the previous owner can leave like anyone else.
Does removing someone change my bill?
No. Team plans are a flat price for the whole plan, not per person. Removing a member frees a seat but doesn't lower your bill — and adding one back doesn't raise it, as long as you're within your plan's seat limit. See Team Plans and Billing.
