Requiring a Signature on Quotes
When signature acceptance is enabled for your account, you can ask clients to draw or type their signature when accepting a digital quote. Their name, acceptance statement and signing time are saved with the proposal they received.
Turn it on for new quotes#
Open Settings → Terms → Templates → 04 Quote acceptance and turn on Require a signature on new quotes. This applies to new estimates. Existing quotes keep their own setting. If the option is not visible, signature acceptance has not been enabled for your account yet.
Change one quote#
In the quote’s proposal options or estimate settings, change Require a signature to accept before sending. Review the preview: a Client acceptance section with blank name, position, signature and date lines will appear. Clients can use those lines if they prefer to print and sign.
Changing settings after sending does not change the document your client received. Recall and resend the quote when you need to change its signing requirement.
What your client does#
The client opens the quote link and chooses Accept quote. They enter their own name, optionally add their position and email, then choose Draw or Type. Drawing works with a finger, pen or mouse; Clear signature lets them start again. For a typed signature, they choose Adopt this signature. They must also confirm the acceptance statement before submitting.
A forwarded link can be signed by someone other than the original contact. Sammy records the details supplied by that person; it does not independently verify their identity.
Get the signed copy#
For newly sent quotes, the signed copy fills the Client acceptance block with the signer’s name, position, signature and signing date, then includes a Certificate of Acceptance. The certificate identifies the quote by its estimate number; your internal estimate title is not shown. Sammy keeps the original unsigned proposal separately. Earlier signed copies may show the signature only on the certificate. Your client can download it from the confirmation page. You can choose Download signed copy from the acceptance details on the estimate. Your business copy also includes technical audit details that are not included in the client copy.
After successful preparation, the acceptance emails include the signed PDF for the client and your business. Very large files are available through the download controls instead of an attachment. The client confirmation goes separately to the original recipient and any different email the signer supplies. Email preferences still apply.
If the copy is taking longer#
Acceptance is saved before the signed copy is prepared. The client can choose Check signed copy again. You can use Download signed copy on the estimate to retry preparation if it failed. Retrying preparation does not send another acceptance email. Contact support if it still cannot be prepared.
This feature records acceptance of the quote. Sending a separate uploaded contract for signatures or asking both parties to sign is not part of this quote workflow.
