How Do I Delete an Estimate?

You can remove estimates you no longer need by archiving them. This hides them from your main view while preserving the data for your records.

Archiving an Estimate

Archiving is the recommended way to remove estimates from your active list.

From the Estimates List

  1. Go to Estimates in the sidebar
  2. Find the estimate you want to remove
  3. Click the menu icon (three dots) on the estimate row
  4. Select Archive

From the Estimate Detail Page

  1. Open the estimate
  2. Click the menu icon in the top right
  3. Select Archive

What Happens When You Archive

  • The estimate status changes to Archived
  • It's hidden from your main Estimates list
  • The data is preserved for your records
  • It still appears in historical reports and client activity
  • You can restore it later if needed

Viewing Archived Estimates

Archived estimates aren't permanently deleted. To find them:

  1. Go to the Estimates page
  2. Use the filter to show Archived estimates
  3. Browse or search your archived estimates

Restoring an Archived Estimate

If you need to bring back an archived estimate:

  1. Find the estimate in your archived list
  2. Open the estimate
  3. Change the status from Archived to the appropriate status (Draft, Sent, etc.)
  4. Save the changes

Archive vs Delete

Archive (recommended):

  • Preserves data for records
  • Maintains audit trail
  • Can be restored
  • Keeps linked project history intact

Permanent deletion:

  • Not available for estimates
  • Archiving is the standard approach

When to Archive

Consider archiving when:

  • A job didn't proceed and you don't need the estimate active
  • You've created a revised estimate and want to hide the old one
  • You're cleaning up your estimates list
  • The estimate is very old and no longer relevant

Tips

  • Archive declined estimates – Keep them for reference but out of your active list
  • Don't archive accepted estimates – These are part of your job history
  • Use filters – Rather than archiving everything, use status filters to manage your view
