How Do I Change My Login Email?
You can change the email you use to sign in to Sammy yourself, straight from your settings. To keep your account safe, you'll confirm the change from the new email address before it takes effect.
Changing Your Login Email
- Click your name or Settings in the sidebar
- Open the Account tab
- In the Your details panel, find the Login Email row
- Click Change
- Enter your new email and your current password
- Click Send confirmation link
We send a confirmation link to your new email address. The change isn't finished until you click that link.
Finishing the Change
- Open the inbox for your new email address
- Find the email from Sammy and click the confirmation link
- You'll be taken back to Sammy with a message confirming the update
From then on, sign in with your new email address. Your password stays the same.
While the Change Is Pending
After you request the change, the Login Email row shows a Pending note until you click the link in your new inbox. From there you can:
- Resend – Send the confirmation link again if it didn't arrive
- Cancel change – Stop the change and keep your current login email
If You Signed In with Google or Apple
If you created your account with Google or Apple, you'll see a small Google or Apple tag next to your Login Email, and the button will say Set up password sign-in instead of Change.
- Click Set up password sign-in
- Choose a password (at least 8 characters) and confirm it
- Click Save password
This gives you a password as a second way to sign in. You can still sign in with Google or Apple any time. Once your password is saved, the button changes to Change and you can update your login email using the steps above.
Common Issues
- "That password doesn't match" – Double-check your current password and try again. If you've forgotten it, sign out and use Forgot password on the login screen first.
- "That email is already linked to another Sammy account" – You can't use an email that's already in use on Sammy. Pick a different address, or contact support if you think this is a mistake.
- The confirmation email hasn't arrived – Check your spam or junk folder, then use Resend. Make sure you're checking the inbox for the new email address you entered.
- Can't access the email you need? – There's a Contact support link in the change window. Get in touch and we'll help sort it out.
Tips
- The confirmation link goes to your new address, so make sure you typed it correctly and can sign in to that inbox.
- Changing your login email doesn't change your business email on proposals or invoices. To update what your clients see, go to the Company tab in Settings.
- This works the same on the Sammy web app and the mobile app.
